George Joseph Suzanne, 81, a proud member of the Chicago Regional Brotherhood of Carpenters Local #10, spent most of his time at McCormick Place in Chicago and retired in 2010 as a Union Steward after 40 years of service.
Coworker Norbert Sliwa wrote in his guestbook, “He was a great man to work with back at McCormick Place. Remember him as the union steward from when I was with Local 80.”
He is survived by his loving wife Marianne Suzanne; daughters Pamela (Jeff) Ventanni, and Leah Suzanne (fiancée Tim Ferguson); grandchildren Dominick Suzanne-Mayer, Steven Ventanni (fiancée Gina Glasgow), Madeline Suzanne-Mayer (fiancée Danny Schindler), Alex Ventanni, and Mary Mayer, also a great granddaughter Aleta Ventanni. Preceded in death by his parents George and Elizabeth Suzanne.
Services were held Jan. 13 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Lockport, Ill. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org).
