Show Foreman for Teamsters Local 631, Las Vegas
Robert Wayne Talley, 53, was a member of Teamsters Local 631 for 27 years where he was a show foreman and led teams, as well as taught and mentored apprentices. He was also an avid sports fan and golfer. In his down time, he loved creating beautiful pieces of woodwork in his shop. He was Southern Baptist and, in his younger years, he felt the call to preach. Robert was a loving husband, father, son, and papa.
His friends and co-workers posted on social media including colleague Teri Yates who wrote, “ Another sad day has come….we have lost another brother, cancer won again, rest in God’s love & peace, Robert Talley. We will love & miss you, always.” Jason Clemmons wrote, “Very sorry for his family. He was a great man. He will be missed” and Steven Sherman shared, “So sad to hear what a wonderful man.” In his online guestbook, co-worker Angie Ambrose wrote, “So sorry to hear of Robert’s passing! Worked with him a lot over the years in Vegas. Thoughts and prayers to Tracy and Cheryl and whole family!!! Still have cutting board he made for me—so thoughtful! Gone too soon!” Colleague JoAnn Duran shared, “I am so sorry for your loss he always had a kind word. His mother and father had gentle souls also so it was no surprise how he carried himself—happy-go-lucky, kind, helpful and full of life. May he rest in peace. He will be remembered as a kind soul.”
He is survived by his wife Tracy; children, Haley Betancourt, Marissa Boswell, Kassaundra Rushton (Thomas), Sydney Farris (Randy), Jared Talley and Hannah Talley; his mother, Cheryl; sister, Tammy Talley and five grandchildren, Romeo, Namya, Mateo, Carter and Eleanor; and his pets: Butch and Boomer. He was predeceased by his father Jerry, his grandparents and his beloved pet, Bentley.
The family would like to thank Comprehensive Cancer Center of Nevada (Dr. Vogelzang & team) and Nathan Adelson Hospice (Nurse Julianne “Tootsie” & team) for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
