After a year that saw a record number of submissions, International Special Events Society (ISES) named the recipients of the 2013-2014 ISES Spirit of Excellence Awards.
The awards recognize ISES Chapters that excel in chapter communications, programming and education, membership retention and growth programs, and international engagement. Individual awards are given to ISES volunteers who have gone above and beyond in their service to the Society. Awards are presented by ISES during the Annual Meeting at ISES Live.
The 2013-2014 ISES Spirit of Excellence Awards were awarded to the following chapters and individuals at the ISES Annual Meeting on Aug. 18 in Seattle:

Leadership Awards
Volunteer of the Year (The volunteer with the greatest overall contribution to ISES in 2013-2014).

Mettle Attitude Award (The volunteer who is always willing, perseveres and achieves results against all odds in 2013-2014.)
– Gwen Helbush, CSEP, Northern California Chapter
J. Robert Graves Pioneer Award (Named in honor of one of the founders/pioneers of ISES, it is awarded to a person who contributed to the growth/development of the Society in 2013-2014.)
– Kelly Treadway, Greater Atlanta Chapter
ISES was founded in 1987 to foster enlightened performance through education while promoting ethical conduct. ISES works to join event and meeting professionals to focus on the “event as a whole” rather than its individual parts. ISES has grown to involve more than 5,000 members active in 54 chapters throughout the world.
