Full-service event management company, J. Spargo & Associates Inc.’s CEO will retire from his position but will remain as chairman of the board of directors.
Effective Sept. 23, John W. Spargo is retiring from the company bearing his name, and Susan Bracken, president and chief operating officer, will become CEO.
“Working at the company and with its talented employees and management team for nearly 40 years has been an honor,” said John Spargo. “It has been a privilege to serve alongside such a passionate group of employees and to work with our many partners and customers, and I look forward to continuing to work with the board of directors.”
The change in leadership is the culmination of a crafted strategic plan previously adopted by the board of directors. The leadership transition will be seamless, according to company officials.

She worked closely with John Spargo and senior management to drive growth and delivery of all client and business growth initiatives.

Spargo & Associates’ clients, shareholders and employees to build a strategically focused company,” Bracken said. “John focused not only on industry best practices, client service and innovation but on developing talent and ensuring a high-quality succession plan as a critical element of good corporate governance.”
A seasoned executive, Bracken has more than 20 years of experience working in high-level executive positions at J. Spargo & Associates Inc.
