VisitPITTSBURGH President & CEO Jerad Bachar was named to the City & State Pennsylvania’s 2022 Pittsburgh Power 100, checking in at No. 61 on the list that highlights some of the most influential and notable people across the City of Pittsburgh.
“I’m honored to be recognized alongside many of our city’s thought leaders,” Bachar says. “It is a privilege to lead VisitPITTSBURGH and to collaborate with elected officials, stakeholders, partners and colleagues who work to strengthen and build Allegheny County’s tourism economy each day.”
Bachar was named VisitPITTSBURGH President & CEO in May 2020. In this role, he has served as a trusted community voice and leader for the Pittsburgh tourism and hospitality industries as they work to rebound from the devastation caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Bachar boasts nearly 30 years of tourism and economic development experience in an array of countries and business environments. He has worked in developed and emerging markets in the areas of destination branding and marketing, economic development and diversification and workforce development.
Prior to assuming his current leadership role, Bachar served as VisitPITTSBURGH’s Executive Vice President. He returned to Pittsburgh in January 2019 following a four-year stint as the Executive Director at the Bahrain Economic Development Board, where he was responsible for economic development of the travel, healthcare, education and real estate sectors.
City & State’s Pittsburgh Power 100 was developed in partnership with Pittsburgh freelance writer Jordan Snowden. It recognizes the city’s movers and shakers in politics, organized labor, business, health care and other sectors and ranks them based on their influence in the region.
