John Mitchell, director of Sales & Marketing at Skyline Sector 5, was sworn in today to the American Advertising Federation – Fort Worth board of directors for the 2016-2017 year.
Founded in 1909, AAF–Fort Worth is a professional organization that brings together those in the advertising and marketing industry to connect, educate and inspire. In addition to sponsoring networking events and civic service projects, the club holds monthly luncheons featuring guest speakers who share industry best practices, trends and experiences to spark learning, discussion and professional development. AAF–Fort Worth also provides a forum to recognize the accomplishments of its members and others in the community through its annual American Advertising Awards competition, the Silver Medal Award and the Dateline Award.
As a board member, Mitchell will be responsible for collaborating with the other board members, officers and members, building membership, increasing ADDY entries and donations, providing insight into current issues and trends impacting the advertising and marketing industry and serving as an ambassador for the organization.
“I am very honored to be elected to the AAF-Fort Worth board of directors,” said Mitchell. “During my term I hope to further AAF-Fort Worth’s mission to connect, educate and inspire as well as bring a heightened awareness for experiential marketing within the local ad and marketing community. Plus, our monthly luncheons are held at Joe T. Garcia’s, which helps join two of the great loves of my life: marketing and Mexican food. Between that and the amazing opportunities AAF-Fort Worth presents, I can’t wait to get started.”
