John and Paul lookalikes belted out the city’s favorites as Liverpool brought Beatlemania to the show floor to mark 50 years since the Fab Four appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show in New York.

“As our industry is about people meeting, it was only right that our tribute act kicked off with Come Together,” said Kerrin MacPhie, director of sales, ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre, Echo Arena and Exhibition Centre Liverpool.

“This year marks 50 years since the Beatles conquered the U.S., and we aimed to do the same at IMEX America. We gave delegates their own taste of Beatlemania during the Euro Party and were thrilled to see visitors dancing around the stand,” she added.

During the event at the VisitEngland stand, Team Liverpool gave away gifts, including a scroll illustrating interesting facts between Liverpool and America, such as President Obama’s family connection to the city – his great, great-grandfather sailed from Liverpool to the U.S. in 1850.
