The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Celeste Johnston (pictured above) as director of information technology beginning on August 6.
Johnston joins MCEC from AGL where she was head of digital technology quality assurance digital transformation capability leader. Prior to joining AGL, Johnston was head of quality assurance, project governance and release management at Latitude Financial/GE Capital. She has held a number of senior positions with organizations including Credit Suisse, Telstra and Coles Myer. She has extensive experience in digital transformation, ensuring technology delivers business value and leading large, complex digital delivery services.
MCEC Chief Executive Peter King says he’s excited to have Johnston join the MCEC team in the newly-created role.
“Celeste’s appointment comes at a time when we require further innovation, energy and cross-departmental collaboration as we take our business into the future,” he says. “This is an exciting time for MCEC and I’m looking forward to Celeste joining us in August.”
Johnston also says she’s delighted to be joining MCEC. “I’m really excited about joining the MCEC family,” she says. “I’m particularly looking forward to collaborating across the business to define the future pathway for digital transformation while ensuring best in class technology for an industry I am so passionate about.”
