Atlantic City is welcoming back meetings, conventions and sporting events, and Meet AC is inviting planners to ‘meet safe, face-to-face’ this year in Atlantic City. In celebration of Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID), Meet AC released a new video to celebrate the return of in-person events throughout the destination. In 2021, Atlantic City received 195,762 meeting, convention and event room night bookings and 34,935 group motorcoach room nights booked for a total of 230,697. In 2022, these numbers are expected to grow with a projected future room night booking of 357,845 and a projected future delegate spending of $247,131,573.
“In-person meetings and conventions are making a comeback as 85 percent of American workers view this face-to-face interaction as irreplaceable, while 64 percent report feeling the effects of Zoom fatigue as reported by the U.S. Travel Association,” says Meet AC’s President and CEO, Larry Sieg. “Not only is business travel important for the human interaction it allows, but it is a significant economic driver for the destination, not only for our convention center, but our casino and hotel partners, restaurants and attractions. We have put protocols in place that allow planners and attendees to meet safely in person at the Atlantic City Convention Center, and we’re excited to continue to welcome them back with open arms.”
Featuring more than 17,500 first-class hotel rooms, 2.2 million square feet of flexible meeting space citywide and 486,600 contiguous square feet of exhibit space at the LEED Gold and GBAC STAR-certified Atlantic City Convention Center, the destination can cater to any planner’s needs.
Spanning five spacious exhibition halls located on the convention center’s second level, each exhibition hall ranges in size from 29,400 square feet to 199,500 square feet. The convention center offers the perfect venue for small meetings and training sessions, accommodating intimate groups in one of the 45 meeting rooms with dimensions ranging from 11,880 square feet to 672 square feet. Plus, the venue features 32,000 square feet of ample pre-function space. Full service catering is also available exclusively through Spectra Food Service & Hospitality.
