Andaz 5th Avenue, a boutique lifestyle hotel in Midtown Manhattan, appointed a director of meetings & events.
Joining the Andaz 5th Avenue team this season, Marianna Ogando brings over 15 years of diverse hospitality and event planning experience to her new role.
At Andaz 5th Avenue, Ogando will oversee all event operations for the hotel’s innovative and creative meeting and event spaces, including Apartment 2E, the versatile 6,400 square foot space with an expansive but welcoming vibe and layout.
“We are excited to have such a talented and experienced events manager joining our team,” said Cornelia Samara, general manager, Andaz 5th Avenue. “We’re looking forward to an exciting new chapter for our events operations here at Andaz 5th Avenue.”
Ogando’s career has taken her from Sao Paulo to San Diego then on to New York City. Her travels have encompassed stints at Sofitel Luxury Hotels and Resorts, Marriott International, The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe and Denihan Hospitality Group. Her most recent position was director of catering sales and conference services for Warwick International Hotels.

A graduate of the Hospitality and Tourism Management program at Anhembi Morumbi University in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ogando also holds a business degree from San Diego Mesa College in San Diego.
