Michael Dominguez Named to EIC’s Hall of Leaders

Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) is honored to announce that President and CEO Michael Dominguez has been named to the Events Industry Council’s prestigious Hall of Leaders. The Hall of Leaders is the premier recognition program in the meetings, conventions, exhibitions, hospitality and travel industry, offering a lifetime achievement award that recognizes outstanding leaders without whom the industry would not be what it is today.  Each carefully selected inductee has made significant contributions to advance the meetings and events industry in meaningful ways.

“Being inducted into the Hall of Leaders is a truly humbling experience as there is such an amazing group of individuals who have been recognized in our industry,” says Dominguez. “I feel a great responsibility to continue to contribute my time and efforts into making the industry even stronger and making decisions that work towards a greater good. With many different challenges facing some of the cities we drive business to, I see great potential for the meetings and events industry to tackle some of these challenges by coming together and moving the needle.”

Dominguez’s deep understanding of the travel industry and how MICE business affects the economy has allowed him to become an effective leader and educator. He makes decisions that are backed by real data, which enhances business overall. In his role as president and CEO, he oversees all business operations for ALHI, a global sales organization that represents an exclusive collection of more than 250 of the world’s most prestigious hotels and resorts, cruise ships and destination management companies (DMCs) in the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions space.

Dominguez has established himself as an industry leader with positions including past chairman of the International Board of Directors for Meeting Professionals International, board positions with the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the U.S. Travel Association (USTA) Executive Committee and the Board of Directors for ASAE. He has served as co-chair of the Meetings Mean Business Coalition as well as co-chair of the APEX Room Piracy Taskforce and the APEX Standards Committee. He served on the GBTA Foundation Board, the HSMAI Foundation Board and the FICP-Hospitality Professional Advisory Committee. He was recruited and served in taskforce positions for PCMA, ASAE and CIC (Convention Industry Council).

This most recent recognition tops the list of Michael’s numerous industry honors. His accolades and commitment to the industry has made him a much sought-after speaker to companies and associations within the MICE industry and beyond, and he has provided industry insights at several of ALHI’s executive programs.

Dominguez will be officially inducted into the Hall of Leaders during an awards ceremony on September 10 in Las Vegas.
