Meeting Professionals International (MPI), a global organization for meeting and event professionals, is preparing to deliver more industry-leading education during the fifth edition of IMEX America in Las Vegas this October.
MPI is the strategic partner and premier education provider for the tradeshow and will once again present the daily keynotes as well as power IMEX’s Smart Monday program on Oct. 12. Additionally, the MPI Foundation will present Rendezvous, the IMEX America Night, which is the must-attend fundraising and networking event for attendees.
Smart Monday powered by MPI will feature more than 30 education sessions, including a keynote, deep dives, and MPI’s Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate (HMCC) and Meeting Essentials courses. Clock hours can be earned for most sessions, and key topics include hotel and incentive travel trends, risk management and contracts, technology, green and socially responsible meetings, meeting design and more. In addition, MPI and PSAV will present the results from the first research project on the use and management of event technology in planning and executing meetings and events.
“MPI looks forward to returning to IMEX America this year,” said Paul Van Deventer, president and CEO, MPI. “We continue to receive positive attendee feedback on our Smart Monday education and keynotes year after year, which is a testament of the MPI brand promise.”
Carina Bauer, CEO, IMEX Group said, “We are delighted to be working with MPI once again as our strategic partner and premier education provider. The education that MPI provides at IMEX America through their morning keynotes and the exceptionally strong Smart Monday program is second to none and provides both buyers and exhibitors alike a true added value benefit to attending IMEX America. Our teams work closely to ensure that the content is forward looking, as well as being highly relevant to delegates from all sectors of the industry, and it has become a corner stone of the IMEX America offering.”
Each morning, MPI will present the following four knowledgeable keynote speakers of IMEX America.
Monday, Oct. 12
Lee Papa – How to Live and Lead Mindfully
As an advisor, instructor and speaker, Lee has sought out to understand ones purpose and how to lead a more inspiring life. She will provide an explanation of what mindfulness practices are and how they greatly impact one’s life for the better as well as offer concepts and tools to use immediately to bring forth a positive shift. Attendees will understand the process of utilizing deliberate conscious living to experience a more profound life that is robust in overall health, mind, body and spirit.

Attendees will leave feeling refreshed and with a renewed sense of what is really important – bringing that sense of purpose and meaning in to the workplace.

As a film director who specializes in making movies with environmental messages popular with the 18-35 year old demographic, Tickell will reveal the secret world of social and psychological triggers that drive this generation. Attendees will learn how the “future-focused” value set differs from the previous generations and how to tailor sustainability policies, communication, human resources and customer service to meet the needs of the next generation of the marketplace.

Patrick Henry – Becoming Remember-able
As a former Nashville songwriter and SiriusXM satellite radio personality, Henry will discuss real world stories from his book, “The Pancake Principle: Seventeen STICKY Ways to Make Your Customers FLIP For You.” Attendees will learn about three mindsets to build an extraordinary customer experience.
MPI will also present education in its booth once again this year. Attendees are encouraged to stop by to network and learn more about MPI membership and volunteer opportunities.
In addition, the MPI Foundation will present Rendezvous, the IMEX America Night on Wednesday evening, Oct. 14, at Drai’s, a lavish indoor and outdoor club located on the rooftop of The Cromwell hotel, which is a Caesars Entertainment property.
