At IMEX on May 25 in Germany, leadership from Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and Jumeirah Group signed a formal agreement to a global partnership that spans investments in research, education and marketplace opportunities.
“We’re honored that an organization like Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts, with a robust growth strategy and commitment to education, has selected MPI as a global partner,” said Bruce MacMillan, MPI president and CEO. “Aligning MPI Global Training programs and research into the future of meetings with Jumeirah just made sense.”
The current three-year agreement commits MPI to train Jumeirah event professionals in preparation for obtaining their Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credentials. Additionally, Jumeirah now has access to marketplace opportunities leveraging exposure to MPI members’ $16.4 billion buying power. The partnership also includes a Jumeirah investment with the MPI Foundation to advance research on the future of meetings.
“The partnership with MPI demonstrates Jumeirah’s commitment to the meeting and events industry,” said Guy Crawford, CEO Jumeirah Group. “At Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts, we have access to some of the most imaginative and exhilarating facilities to hold a meeting or a conference, and Jumeirah colleagues have become known for the thoughtful and generous service they provide in a luxurious environment. By supporting the MPI Foundation and through our continuous commitment to the development of our colleagues, our goal is to raise the bar to offer even more innovative and successful meetings.”
To date, Jumeirah’s portfolio includes the world’s most luxurious and award-winning hotel properties with a team of more than 11,500 people from 100 nationalities. The organization is actively expanding around the world, not only with properties, but also in working more closely with meetings and events. Jumeirah recognizes the value that MPI’s expertise can bring to preparing their growing team to achieve globally recognized certifications like CMP.
