The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (MCCNO) has contracted with New Orleans Emergency Medical Service (EMS) to be its exclusive medical services provider beginning November 22, thereby providing the most responsive option for meetings, conventions and events at the center.
The New Orleans EMS has proven experience in managing large-scale festivals and events such as such as Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl on a routine basis. New Orleans EMS was the sole 911 provider of EMS in Orleans Parish, and has the unique capability to use their interoperable radio system to communicate with New Orleans Police Department, New Orleans Fire Department and other municipal EMS’s throughout this region.
New Orleans EMS will provide pre-hospital emergency care to attendees during shows by staffing three permanent medical stations located throughout the convention center. They will also provide ambulance response, mobile services, advance cardiac life support, advance pediatric life support, pediatric emergency care and pre-hospital trauma life support.
New Orleans EMS is a key agency in the center’s emergency evacuation plan and is stationed immediately adjacent to the MCCNO.
