New products in the AV industry

New products are springing up left and right in the Audio / Visual industry. Booth designs are evolving to incorporate these technologies, which are becoming essential. These fresh components include user-friendly and interactive media, among other new products being introduced and used on the Show floor.

Ken Sanders, Freeman Audio / Visual: We have moved completely away from the old square format in favor of higher resolution and wider formats similar to what you would have at home. The tablet age is upon us and having information such as presentations and flow sheets accessible for the client is a must. With this in mind, there is no question that we are seeing more migration between IT and AV. Other key technologies include: tablet technologies, such as the iPad2; touchscreens with integrated monitors; glasses-free 3D monitors; widescreen formatted screens; and HD projection.

Kemer Poteete, Trade Show Technical: We just introduced video walls into our inventory. So far, they have proved to be a hit and are becoming a very big part of our revenue stream. The NEX Units are industry proven and are a very effective tool on the tradeshow floor.

Dave McCormack, 4 Productions: The latest technology we are offering is the multi-touch surface for our 103-inch plasma. The other technology we have introduced is the HD hologram. This technology definitely has applications for some clients where it makes financial sense to incorporate it into their booth. We also offer a lead management program that provides real time analytics about the attendees interactions within a booth. This also allows for e-literature rather than shipping in pallets of printed materials that statistically never even leave the city.
