RES Exhibit Services, a handler of complex tradeshow programs worldwide, appointed a vice president of sales and marketing effective immediately.
Joining RES is Christopher Kappes, a well-known industry veteran who was initially hired as a consultant.
“After a few weeks of working together, [Chris and I] came to the realization that a more formal relationship made sense as we transform RES into a ‘strategic outcome’ company,” explained James V. Leonardo, president and CEO, RES Exhibit Services. “Given Chris’s background and industry leadership, we’re excited to apply his knowledge and skillset to our business and clients.”
Kappes previously held senior-level positions at 3D Exhibits, Matrex Exhibits, Sparks and Exhibitgroup/Giltspur, among others.
“RES is a best-kept industry secret,” said Kappes. “Frankly, I was blown away with RES’ in-house capabilities, and Rochester is a hot-bed of industry talent given the corporate and university populations. Finally, Rochester is a “low-cost” base of operation, and therefore, we have the opportunity to drive greater value for our clients and prospects. We have a lot to market/sell at RES, and I’m excited to lead the sales/marketing organization.”
A published author of two books, Kappes holds a Master of Business Administration from Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts from Ball State University.
