New show director joins Marketplace Events

jeff-dentremontMarketplace Events announced that Jeff D’Entremont has joined the company as show director, heading up the company’s March 2011 launch of the Great Big Texas Home Show, produced in partnership with the Dallas Cowboys organization.

D’Entremont joins Marketplace Events after spending 12 years at Advanstar Communications. At Advanstar he was show manager for the Powersports Dealer Expo, number 57 on the Tradeshow Week 200, and was later promoted to show director of the Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows, a series of annual consumer events located in 12 major U.S. markets.  His most recent role was group show director and director of business development.

Prior to Advanstar, Jeff worked in several well-known facilities such as Mile High Stadium, McNichols Arena, Denver Coliseum, and the Indiana Convention Center & RCA Dome.

“Creating a world-class home show in a world-class facility, while also growing the Marketplace Events portfolio across Texas, is a great opportunity that I had to seize,” said D’Entremont.

D’Entremont will lead the new team, which includes Sales Representatives Duane Cave and Lindsey Rausch and Administrative Assistant Jennifer Adams, from offices located within Cowboys Stadium.

“We’re thrilled to have someone of Jeff’s caliber leading this important launch for us,” said Mike Webster, Marketplace Events VP.  “We have never before launched a home show that has generated as much initial interest as this one.”

More than 5,000 net square feet of space has been contracted since the company announced the new show; before even having the team in place.

“The response from home and garden related businesses that we’ve heard from thus far has been extremely positive,” said Webster. “The new team will be very, very busy.”

In addition to the 600-plus home improvement exhibits, all located on the field, plans for the 2011 launch include multiple model homes, 20,000-square-feet of feature gardens, and designer rooms.

D’Entremont also expects to confirm in the immediate future a live appearance by Marketplace Events spokesperson Ty Pennington of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” who has appeared at five of their shows in the past two years.
