Global Spectrum, the management company of the Owensboro Convention Center, announced the opening of Big E Café on Mar. 1.
Located in the west lobby area, the café is sure to be a hit with event goers, visitors and the general public.
The café was named in honor of the building that once stood before the construction of the convention center. Autographed by various artists, a section of the stage from the old Executive Inn Showroom Lounge hangs on the wall in the café. Also on display will be many autographed photos of the lounge’s past performers. Food provided will include Panini sandwiches, wraps, grab and go snack items as well as coffee and other beverages.
“Global Spectrum is excited to introduce the Big E Café to the community. While initially envisioned as an event only café, we have had a great deal of interest from patrons on providing daily service. We will evaluate and make any necessary adjustments in the future, but are indeed anxious to gauge the response of our clients,” said Dean Dennis, general manager, Global Spectrum, Owensboro Convention Center.
Community interest has influenced the Center to operate the café weekly Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. The café will also be open during special events to serve event goers and visitors.
