Announcing a suite of festivities to celebrate the January 2014 grand opening of the Owensboro Convention Center in Owensboro, Ky., center officials prepare to show off their new 45,000 square-foot crown gem.
Noting that the building will anchor a revitalized downtown in the west-central Kentucky city, the facility will also offer 47,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space.
Philadelphia-based Global Spectrum will manage the facility.
Dean Dennis, general manager, Global Spectrum, said the new facility is an opportunity to showcase the region to potential future clients.
“There is no better way to sell space like we have than to actually entertain our clients in that space,” said Dennis.
Grand opening events kick off on Jan. 31 with a gala featuring local bands and various musical performances. A formal ribbon-cutting and luncheon also highlight the events scheduled for that weekend.
