Pacific World, a global destination and event management firm and professional conference organizer (PCO), has announced the appointment of a new sales representative for Brazil.
The appointment of Cristina Alcantara supports Pacific World’s drive to strengthen its sales efforts in the meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions (MICE) markets and to expand its current events management and PCO centers across the globe.
With more than six years of experience in the MICE industry, Alcantara will be focusing on promoting Pacific World to Brazilian MICE market customers. Previously, as the official “face” of the trade and events department of Turespaña in São Paulo, one of her main responsibilities was to develop strategic partners, promoting Spain as destination for tourism and MICE business. Alcantara is Brazilian and a professional translator with an advanced degree in English and doctorate in Spanish translation from Salamanca University, Spain.
“The MICE market in Brazil is increasing rapidly – last year, in particular, saw significant growth and development – this trend is not only valid for Europe but for Asia too,” said Shaun Casey, regional director, EMEA.
Brazil has several associations focusing on meetings and incentive activities, and there has also been an increase in MICE industry events held in the country such as Latin American Meetings and Events Conference (LAMEC).
Pacific World currently operates in more than 15 countries including Spain, Portugal, Greece, Scotland, China, India, Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.
