The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), a professional resource and premier educator, was selected by the Jordan Tourism Development II Project to provide training and guidance to over 30 meetings industry professionals.
Helping these individuals prepare for the Certified Meetings Professional (CMP) exam, PCMA offered a two-day training conference on Aug. 25-26 in Amman, Jordan.
“PCMA is proud to have been selected to provide this training,” said Sheriff Karamat, COO, PCMA. “The quality of our education is unparalleled and this selection will help bring PCMA’s education and products to new meetings professionals and destinations around the world.”
This face-to-face session covered what to expect on the exam, how best to answer the questions and how to study for it. Holding a certification from the Convention Industry Council (CIC) allows participants to be recognized as leading experts in their industry.
“CMP certification for local operators will cement Jordan’s capacity to host meetings and conventions and thus help the sector grow this lucrative market,” said Mr. Ibrahim Osta, chief of party, USAID Jordan Tourism Development Project. “We are excited to partner with PCMA to support Jordanian applicants prepare for the CMP exams and gain international recognition for their specialization.”
Aiming to expand the ability to attract international business, Jordan’s National Tourism Strategy believes the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector is a major business opportunity for the country and region.
