The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) has announced staff changes and additions to elevate their strategic initiatives with both Education and Marketing.
Senior Vice President Kelly Peacy, CAE, CMP has added the leadership of the PCMA Education Team to her responsibilities; she will continue to lead the Meeting & Events Team.
Peacy has a 12-year history with the organization, previously working in marketing, research, and meetings and events. During her tenure, she has grown the number of face-to-face and virtual events, the organization’s meetings revenue, and the meeting and events team. She has been the catalyst behind the innovation participants experience when they attend a PCMA meeting; from the Learning Lounge format to customized scheduling to differing general session approaches.
“This aligns PCMA’s education approach with the trends we are seeing in our industry,” said Deborah Sexton, PCMA president and CEO. “Kelly has long been the architect of PCMA’s meeting design and she will now orchestrate the complete meeting experience for our participants.”
Prior to PCMA, Peacy held various positions with associations in meetings, exhibits and marketing communications. Peacy is a member of the Convention Industry Council’s CMP Board of Directors and is its Education Committee Co-Chair.
An addition to staff is Carolyn Clark, vice president of marketing and communications. Clark has worked in this position as an independent contract over the past seven months and now assumes the role full-time.
Clark will lead the branding and marketing of PCMA’s products, services and events, and liaison with industry press. Most recently, Clark crafted the PCMA Defines Me membership campaign and the PCMA 2012 Convening Leaders’ segmented marketing communications.
“Carolyn brings her extensive marketing and industry knowledge to PCMA and the results are already evident,” said Sherrif Karamat, PCMA COO. “Her talents will benefit both PCMA and our partners.”
Prior to PCMA, Clark led brand strategy and marketing teams for several Chicago-based agencies and logged 16 years with Hilton Worldwide in a variety of hotel-based and corporate positions.
