PeopleVisionFX has created a multi-touch interactive display for the United States Joint Munitions Command (JMC). The 42-inch display allows visitors to navigate through detailed information on the defense department’s new 5.56 mm bullet: the M855A1 Enhanced Performance Round (EPR). The presentation includes 3-D graphics, charts, graphs and full-motion videos.
Attendees can use the touch interface to manipulate and access the display elements and guide themselves through the materials at their own pace and in the sequence of their own particular interests.
The EPR provides warfighters a number of significant enhancements not found in the current M855 round, including improved hard-target capability, more dependable and consistent performance at all distances, improved accuracy, reduced muzzle flash and a higher velocity. The EPR simultaneously eliminates up to 2,000 tons of lead from the manufacturing process annually in direct support of Army commitment to environmental stewardship.
“The EPR is a major innovation of a venerable weapons technology,” said Wayne Sullivant, president of PeopleVisionFX. “Our display’s multi-touch interface is a high-tech platform for presenting a high-tech innovation.”
