The Phoenix Convention Center recently announced that 11 staff members have passed the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) exam offered by the Convention Industry Council. Seventy-five percent of Phoenix’s sales and event management team now hold CMP certification. This achievement places the Phoenix Convention Center among the top facilities with the highest percentage of CMPs on staff.
“I would like to congratulate the convention staff who chose to continue their education through the CMP program,” said Kathy Kramer, CMP, Phoenix Convention Center deputy director of sales and marketing. “These individuals demonstrate a commitment to our profession and continue to reinforce that the Phoenix Convention Center is one of the country’s most exceptional facilities.”
Certification recipients include: Debbi Foshee, Diane McCullough, Susan Watson, Kim Fisher, Miguel Munguia, Joni Jones, Caron Bernard, Tamiko Tinker, Roxanne Williams, Melissa Balthazor and Mark Rosendahl, who is with the convention center’s exclusive catering company, Aventura. These staff members join Kathy Kramer, Kelly Murphy and Sandy Brown (Aventura), who are already certified.
The CMP designation is a distinguished credential, recognized throughout the meetings, conventions, and exhibitions industry that reinforces a professional’s comprehensive knowledge of meeting management.
The demand for this designation continues to increase as employers and meeting professionals realize the depth of knowledge and recognition to the profession that this certification brings to an organization. Since its inception, the CMP designation has been earned by more than 14,000 meeting professionals in 36 countries and territories worldwide.
