The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board will continue its promotions of its meeting, incentive travel, convention and exhibition (MICE) industry in 2013 with a proactive campaign, including a strategic alliance with the Mexico Tourism Board (MTB), with whom it will participate at this year’s AIBTM, IMEX and MPI events.
From Jan. 13-16, Guillermo Ohem, executive director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, joined Eduardo Chaillo, the MTB’s executive director for the meetings industry, at this year’s PCMA Convening Leaders conference in Orlando to present the varied meetings and conventions infrastructure.
During the conference, which aims to educate MICE professionals on the latest trends, Ohem was interviewed by PCMA-TV, educated more than 2,000 professionals during an MTB-sponsored luncheon and showed the floor plans of some of the venues in Puerto Vallarta, including its International Convention Center. Ohem also participated in a tequila tasting presented by the state of Jalisco, where Puerto Vallarta is located, as a sample of the many activities that can be done while visiting the city.
With an excess of 12,599 hotel rooms, a state-of-the-art International Convention Center, world-class diverse tourism offers and accessibility, Puerto Vallarta is an ideal destination for MICE events. One of Mexico’s premier destinations, Puerto Vallarta has hosted high profile conferences within the past year including the 2011 Pan-American games, Tianguis – Mexico’s leading tourism event, and the World Economic Forum.
In 2013 the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board is planning a proactive and intense promotion of its MICE infrastructure, including a high presence in IMEX and MPI as well as meeting with meetings professionals during its upcoming roadshow which will visit cities across the U.S. and Canada.
