Registration still open for Chicago Randy Charity Golf Outing

On August 8, 2011, the Chicago chapters of the EACA and EDPA will hold the 8th annual Chicago Randy Charity Golf Outing. The proceeds from this tournament, which is held at the Maple Meadows Golf Club in Wood Dale, Ill., will benefit the Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic, held in Atlanta ever year.


“This is a special day to set aside and help others,” said Nancy Virene, national account and operations manager for The TERM Group and vice president of the Chicago Chapter of the EDPA. “It is also a good way to mingle and network with fellow colleagues. Last year, we raised over $8k in a down economy, so we were very grateful to all our participants.”

This year, the golf tournament will tee off with a gunshot start at 1 p.m. Participants are asked to check in by noon and are invited to stay for dinner and a raffle after golfing.

For $125 per person, golfers get a cart, two drink tickets and dinner. For those who only wish to golf, the price is $100 per person. Dinner only is $50 per person.

Industry professionals are also encouraged to sponsor the event. To become a Hole Sponsor, companies can put their logo at a tee box for $150. For $225, a sponsor will be listed as a Special Friend, and for $350, the sponsor is noted as an Elite Sponsor.

However, for those who can’t participate in sponsorship opportunities, regular donations are also accepted.

Every year, The Randy Smith Memorial Golf tournament donates the proceeds from the event to families in the tradeshow industry who are in need. The Memorial began in 1995 and has since provided financial and emotional support to over 70 families.
