Relevant Group has revealed their latest project, Citizen News, which will officially open on November 30.
Situated in the heart of Hollywood at 1545 Wilcox Avenue, between the recently opened Thompson Hollywood and tommie Hollywood (opening fall 2021) hotels, this iconic 48,000 square foot historical building has undergone a state of the art transformation by Rockefeller Kempel Architects. Developed by Relevant Group and concepted by Ten Five Hospitality, Citizen News will house the multi-functional, innovative event space.
The 88-year old structure, originally constructed in 1930, is known as a historic art deco building that was once home to the leading Hollywood Newspaper, by the same name. Now, Relevant Group and Ten Five Hospitality are reimagining the inspired space to turn it into a quintessential part of the city, bringing this iconic site to life once again.
Meticulously revived for Los Angeles, Citizen News’ versatile event space will span two floors, boasting more than 15,000 square feet and featuring 20-foot-high ceilings. Through a dedicated entrance located on the left side of the structure, guests will have access to the first and second floor event spaces. Upon entry, visitors will be greeted with a private lounge, breathtaking corridors and grand staircases that infuse the interiors with character and charm.

On the second floor, visitors will find an exceptional, 10,000 square foot blank canvas with polished concrete floors and an abundance of windows. With a capacity of 750, the space has been carefully constructed to meet every event need, and will be idyllic for large scale entertainment events, global summits, concerts and weddings. Additionally, a 14-seat boardroom will be available for use on the second floor, situated behind the main event area.
Downstairs on the ground floor, visitors will have access to a more intimate event space situated at the back of the Citizen News building. This exquisite, yet functional room will serve as a high-end destination for private dinner parties and smaller-scale meetings. Additionally, the event spaces will have access to curated dining experiences by Evan Funke of Mother Wolf (opening fall 2021), state-of-the-art audio visual capabilities, an in-house speaker and projection system, valet parking and premium mixology options.
