Rita Moore joins ConferenceDirect as director of conference management operations as of June 12.
Moore will oversee the overall operations of the Conference Management Team including training, recruiting and processes. “We’re elated to welcome Rita to our Conference Management Leadership Team at ConferenceDirect,” says Larry Hanson, chief marketing officer of ConferenceDirect. “She will be a great asset as she brings a variety of experiences from the industry.”
Most recently, Moore was interim director of meetings and events at the Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter Hotel where she was the leader of Event Planning, Banquets/Catering, Event Service and Event Technology.
For four years, Moore was the director of sales and marketing at the La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, Calif., and the San Diego metro market director of catering and conference services for Starwood Hotels and Resorts for three years.
Before Moore began her career with hotels, she owned a catering company and gourmet shop with two of her brothers and was an executive pastry chef. She was born in Wilmington, Del., and currently resides in San Diego. She enjoys hiking, yoga, baking, listening to all types of music, being a voracious reader and her yellow Labrador retriever, Elvis Costello.
