SportsPITTSBURGH’s Executive Director Jennifer Hawkins has been named to the advisory board of the EventConnect Sportology Conference. EventConnect is the leading cloud-based event and tournament management system for the sports tourism industry. The Sportology Conference focuses on issues related to sports technology.

Hawkins has witnessed exponential growth in the sports-event and tourism industry in the Pittsburgh region and nationally. Hawkins has been instrumental in the entire process of bidding on, planning and executing numerous, high-profile sports events. Most recently, she served as co-tournament director of the 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Wrestling Championships and holds the same position for the upcoming NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship, set for PPG Paints Arena Dec. 19 & 21.
A member of Women in Sports and Events and the National Association of Sports Commissions, Hawkins is a board member of P3R/Pittsburgh Marathon and Connect Sports’ Executive Advisory Committee.
