“Guess who’s back, back again?”

Just like the lyrics from Eminem’s Without Me, The Don and Mike Show is back, and the tradeshow world couldn’t be more excited. After a year and change hiatus, the podcast that once dominated the conversation in the tradeshow, event, and experiential marketing industry for more than five years is making its highly anticipated return.

A Return Sparked by Demand

Mike Morrison, Vice President of Sales at WS Display and co-host of the show, couldn’t ignore the growing chorus of voices asking for the podcast’s return. “We had a great following, and even after we stopped, people kept asking about it,” Mike shared. “Sometimes you just get that vibe to bring it back. After speaking with Don and others in the industry, the consensus was clear—it was time.”

The comeback of The Don and Mike Show is not just about reliving the past; it’s about staying relevant in a rapidly evolving industry. “So many things have changed in such a short period… Our goal is to be an audio/video report to the industry for what is going on as well as public interest on subjects everyone is talking about,” Mike explained.

Impactful Moments and New Beginnings

For over five years, The Don and Mike Show was a staple in the industry, offering insights and connections to listeners. The podcast’s last show aired just last year, marking the end of an era. Reflecting on the challenging yet rewarding times during COVID-19, Mike shared, “We were vigilant in keeping people involved in the industry during that time… It was an interesting run when we went for twice-a-week shows.” The podcast became a lifeline for many, offering both information and a sense of connection during uncertain times.

Don Svehla, publisher of Exhibit City News and co-host of the podcast, reflected on how deeply the show resonated with its audience. “I never realized how much people in our industry relate to the show… We kept them informed, connected, and entertained, especially during COVID,” Don shared. The show’s ability to adapt and resonate with its audience has always been one of its key strengths.

Looking Ahead

As The Don and Mike Show gears up for its new chapter, Don and Mike are committed to bringing fresh insights and relevant content to their listeners. With a plan to release episodes twice a month, the duo aims to focus on the most important and useful information for the industry. “Our industry is very complex and always in motion,” Don noted. “Both Mike and I have extensive expertise on the wider industry galaxy.”

The podcast will continue to serve as a vital resource, not just for industry professionals but also for associations, charities, and non-profits. “We are a bullhorn for them,” Don emphasized. “And helping to educate and welcome the influx of fresh talent in our industry… That would be huge.”

For fans of The Don and Mike Show, the wait is over. With a renewed focus and the same engaging style that made it a hit in the first place, the podcast is ready to pick up where it left off—keeping the tradeshow world informed, connected, and entertained.
