Scheduled to speak at the 2014 International CES in Las Vegas, U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker will participate in a forum titled “Innovation: Keeping America Open for Business.”
The forum is scheduled for Jan. 8, 2014, at the Las Vegas Convention Center during CES, to be held from Jan. 7-10.
Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Electronics Association, said the government agency, which promotes job creation and economic growth, is pivotal to technology development in the U.S.
“The Commerce Department plays an important role in driving the growth of our nation’s innovation infrastructure – from promoting trade expansion and domestic manufacturing, to increasing access to a highly-trained workforce,” said Shapiro.
Show officials said CES participates in the Commerce Department’s International Buyer Program, which helps to recruit foreign buyer delegations and brings them to the tradeshow to connect with U.S. companies.
