UBM plc’s commitment to improving its carbon emission performance across all UBM premises worldwide has been recognized in the 2013 CDP FTSE 350 Climate Change Report, published in October.
The report ranks the performance of FTSE 350 businesses in terms of firstly their carbon emission performance and, secondly, the disclosure of details of their strategy and management of their business in the context of climate change, including mitigation, adaptation, risks and opportunities.
The CDP report rates UBM plc as an “A” grade carbon emissions performer, having reduced global carbon emissions by 10 percent in just two years from Jan. 1, 2010, to Dec. 31, 2012, far exceeding UBM’s own target of 5 percent. This achievement earned UBM a place on CDP’s Carbon Performance Leadership Index, meaning UBM now joins the elite 13 leading companies in climate change performance from amongst the FTSE 350 listed business.
“UBM’s commitment to sustainability is key to our business,” said Faye Bennett-Hart, global environmental coordinator, UBM plc. “As part of our sustainability goals, we are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint, and while we’ve a long way to go and have so much more to do, it’s great to have the efforts of our 5,500 people from across 25 different countries worldwide recognized in this way.”
