UFI, the global association of the exhibition industry, asked for entries dedicated to education programs on the topic “best in-house education initiative of the year” during its Education Award competition.
Both UFI members and non-members were invited to submit exhibition-related entries evaluated on the basis of quantitative and qualitative results. After in-depth presentations by three finalists chosen during UFI’s meeting in Milan, “The Milton Graduates Trainee Program” (MGTP) won the 2014 UFI Education Award.
“We are honored that our program was voted UFI’s 2014 winner. This is a tremendous endorsement of our vision and hard work,” said Eddie Choi, executive director, Milton.
Operational efficiency and creativity carry equal importance and are recognized by the MGTP program as going hand in hand.
“The continuing education and training of exhibition professionals remain a critical issue for organizers, venue managers and service providers around the world,” said Enrica Baccini, chair of Education Committee, UFI.
Projects submitted for the second UFI Education Award competition highlighted an array of different initiative options. Milton’s training program includes hands-on training activities with a results-oriented educational program.
“The objective of our training MGTP program is to develop what we call the “T-Shape” people. That is, we provide general business skills to our trainees horizontally while at the same time offering specialty training in such areas as architectural engineering, event planning and media marketing to them vertically,” said Choi. “At Milton, we consider innovation to be the essence of our business proposition. Our passion defines our drive to bring innovation to the exhibition community. To make this passion become a reality, the MGTP program serves as our cornerstone for success.”
UFI recognizes notable achievements in the field of exhibitions through its annual program of education, ICT, marketing, operations and sustainable development.
Milton will receive its UFI Education Award trophy before an audience of industry leaders at the 81st UFI Congress in Bogota this October.
