Upward trend at Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds requires additional staff

Global Spectrum, operators of the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds, have named the first-ever marketing coordinator for the 7-year-old facility.

Amie Daniel Lee has an extensive and well-rounded background of more than 14 years in marketing and public relations within the tourism, convention and retail industries. Prior to joining Global Spectrum, Lee was the marketing director of La Palmera in Corpus Christi, Texas, for Trademark Properties and the marketing manager for SMG at the American Bank Center.

She also spent several years in the non-profit sector as the executive director of the Portland Chamber of Commerce in Portland, Texas, and was the communications director at the Corpus Christi Convention & Visitors Bureau. Lee graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a bachelor’s degree in business in 2003.

“We are very excited to bring Amie onto our team,” said Jason Green, general manager, Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds. “She has an extensive background in marketing and a reputable relationship with regional media and community organizations that will be a great asset to our operation as we see steady growth in events at our facility.”

The Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds has boasted an upward trend and set records since 2012 in events, attendance and gross revenue. According to Green, the numbers for 2013 will bring even better news for the venue than the last. Lee will assist in the success by focusing on much needed general awareness and branding of the facility as well as supporting the sales staff in seeking new business and events. She will also concentrate on providing marketing services to clients and event producers to create added value and revenue for the facility.

Global Spectrum manages the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds as well as more than 115 other public-assembly facilities around the world. Nearly 20-million people attended over 11,000 events in Global Spectrum venues last year. Based in Philadelphia, Global Spectrum is part of Comcast-Spectacor, one of the world’s largest sports and entertainment companies.
