Visit San Antonio Hires 3 New Team Members

Visit San Antonio has announced the recent hiring of three new employees to its Destination Sales and Experience teams. The Destination Sales department is a key player in securing group meetings and industry tradeshows, which contribute significantly to the San Antonio economy, while the Destination Experience team manages large meeting groups and connects local partners with convention meeting planners looking to grow attendance, create authentic experiences and maximize their time in San Antonio.

Colleen Buchanan, CMP, CTA has accepted the role of destination sales manager. Buchanan joined Visit San Antonio in January 2017 as a destination experience manager and has worked with key convention groups including the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). In her new position, Buchanan will work closely with partners at the Henry B. González Convention Center, local hotels, meeting venues and attractions to coordinate in-market site visits.

As a destination experience manager, Molly Hernandez will serve as a liaison between meeting professionals, Visit San Antonio and local partners. She brings superior customer service skills and beneficial relationships with hospitality partners to her new role. Hernandez previously worked as a venue and catering sales manager for the RK Group, a leading San Antonio event firm and the primary catering vendor for San Antonio’s Henry B. González Convention Center.

Estelle Rodriguez has joined the Visit San Antonio team as a destination experience coordinator. In this role, Rodriguez will manage administrative operations for the Destination Experience team and help connect meeting professionals with the local hospitality community. Rodriguez is fluent in Spanish and brings strong organizational skills and a client service background to her new role with Visit San Antonio.
