Visit San Antonio has promoted Laura Betancourt to the role of national sales manager. In her new role, Betancourt will lead sales efforts for San Antonio in the Midwest and Western U.S. markets.
Betancourt joined the Visit San Antonio team in 2007 as a senior events coordinator and advanced to the organization’s destination services team before joining the convention sales team in Jan. 2017 where she created lasting impressions with Visit San Antonio customers. A San Antonio native, Betancourt is a graduate of the University of the Incarnate Word. She has more than 20 years of experience in the meetings industry having started her career in exhibit and tradeshow management. Betancourt earned her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification in 2015 and is a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) for San Antonio.
The Visit San Antonio Destination Sales department is a key player in securing group meetings and industry tradeshows which contribute significantly to the San Antonio economy. Additionally, the Destination Sales team is responsible for helping San Antonio maintain a high level of visibility within the meetings industry and maintaining ongoing communications with key customers.
