Johns Hopkins School of Medicine chooses Epsilon Registration

Epsilon Registration, provider of meeting registration technology and services, announced that the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine has selected Epsilon Registration to provide registration technology for its biennial meeting and reunion weekend to be held June 9 – 12, 2011 in Baltimore, Md.

Epsilon will provide its EReg online registration software to handle registrations for the meeting, which includes accredited education opportunities and provides CME credits, plenary sessions, meals, individual class reunion events, and other social events.

“This meeting has complexities that take it beyond the capabilities of most ordinary registration systems,” said Charles Karow, director of operations for Epsilon Registration. “We are excited that our software has the added flexibility to handle these complexities.”

The challenge is to integrate the registrations for two separate sets of activities that are put on by two separate groups, the accredited academic, CME, programs that are put on by the Johns Hopkins office of continuing medical education, and the social events put on by the development and alumni relations office. Each has different data requirements and reporting needs. There are also separate fees and registration options.

In the past, there were separate registrations for the activities of the two separate groups. This led to a more difficult experience for the attendees, added communication requirements, and confusion as to whether registration was required for one, the other, or both of the activities in order to attend the weekend. All parties agreed an integrated, unified registration process was needed.

“The staff at Epsilon has been great to work with,” said Cheryll Glab, senior associate director of the JHU School of Medicine development and alumni relations office, and administrator, JH medical and surgical association. “They’re really trying to understand our needs so the end product is the easy-to-use, one-stop-shopping tool we’re hoping for.”
