The NürnbergMesse Group, under managing directors Dr. Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann, has made an optimistic start to the year of exhibitions in 2012. Exhibitors and visitors are offered an extensive and varied program of over 50 exhibitions and some 50 congresses, public events and company events in the new year. New events in the international exhibition organizer’s portfolio not only strengthen the Nürnberg location, but the global profile too. The number of own and partner events of NürnbergMesse taking place abroad grows to a record 22.
Besides the special interest exhibitions in its home location, NürnbergMesse is continuously expanding its international portfolio. The first Mexico Pet Expo & Conference starts in Mexico in June and is supported by the expertise of NürnbergMesse North America. Pet South America, which has been successful for ten years, also covers the growing pet market and now gets a sister exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, PET RIO, which has its premiere in August 2012. On the other hand, the North American subsidiary is expanding the Nürnberg exhibition company’s “beverage technologies” segment with the acquisition of InterBev.
NürnbergMesse has made a name for itself in the industry with Brau Beviale, which traditionally takes place in Nürnberg in November, and starting in autumn 2012, can draw on many years of experience and specialist knowledge as new organizer of the established beverage exhibition in the U.S. NürnbergMesse also has a new event to offer in Asia in 2012: NürnbergMesse China is responsible for the exhibition accompanying the FISITA 2012 World Automotive Congress in Beijing.
Overall, NürnbergMesse has a record number of 22 own and partner events outside its home location next year, which means it is active in many of the world’s key markets. From North, Central and South America to far into the Asian region, with exhibitions like Chillventa Rossija in Moscow or BioFach Japan in Tokyo, NürnbergMesse not only shows its presence abroad with its own and partner events. The exhibition company has also received 31 contracts from German, federal and state governments for organizing pavilions in 15 countries in the coming year.
The majority of the exhibitions still take place at the exhibition and congress venue in Nürnberg. The own events portfolio opens the year with Perimeter Protection, an exhibition for the security segment. After its successful premiere in 2010, the Trade Fair for Perimeter Protection continues in its larger form. Parallel to this, the die casting industry meets at EUROGUSS. February sets more standards with the two events BioFach and Vivaness, and FeuerTRUTZ, the Trade Fair with Congress for Preventive Fire Protection, again tackles the “safety” issue.
The even years are the stronger years for the international exhibition organizer in terms of event cycles. The events in 2010 achieved a record revenue of over 200 million euros. 2012 has a packed program to offer and good booking levels in the first half of the year. Nevertheless, it is necessary to closely observe the impacts of the financial industry and the currency landscape on the real economy in the new year too. Beyond this risk aspect, the goal of NürnbergMesse in 2012 is to top 200 million euros revenue again.
