The Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association presented the 2016 HCEA Distinguished Service Award to Diane Benson, CTSM Diamond, from GE Healthcare. The HCEA Award for Distinguished Service recognizes an HCEA member for extraordinary contributions to the healthcare convention and exhibition industry.
The award, HCEA’s highest form of recognition, was presented to Benson to recognize her over 28 years of service in the healthcare convention marketing and exhibitions industry and her dedication to HCEA. Since joining HCEA in 2000, Benson has actively served on HCEA’s board of directors and led the organization as president in 2015-16. Also, she has served continually on HCEA’s marketing and PR committee and chaired the 2015 annual meeting committee, and held several other roles on the executive committee. Benson also represents HCEA at other industry events where she is a frequent featured speaker.
“To be recognized with this prestigious award, one that is nominated and voted on by my peers in this industry, and to follow in the footsteps of the previous recipients of the Distinguished Service Award, of which there have been only 16 in the entire history of HCEA, is the greatest honor I could ever imagine and truly humbling. I have the greatest respect and admiration for all the leaders who have come before, and sincere gratitude for all those who have supported, encouraged and inspired me throughout my career,” said Benson.
