Stockton Grad and Meet AC Employee Joseph Huntenburg Awarded Scholarship to MPI’s WEC in LV

Meet AC is thrilled to announce Joseph Huntenburg, Stockton University Hospitality and Tourism Management Studies graduate and part-time marketing services coordinator with Meet AC, has been awarded a scholarship from the MPI Foundation to attend Meeting Professionals International’s World Education Congress in Las Vegas, Nev., taking place June 19-22.

MPI is the largest meeting and event industry association worldwide and acts as a prominent voice for the promotion and growth of the industry. More than 2,000 global meeting and event professionals attend MPI’s annual WEC event for relevant education, networking opportunities and business exchanges. This year’s conference theme is, Stop planning meetings and start designing experiences.

The MPI Foundation WEC Scholarship, sponsored by Wyndham Worldwide, includes a full conference scholarship that is applied toward registration, airfare, hotel accommodations and a per diem. Wyndham Worldwide awards WEC scholarships to five students and five faculty members annually.

“The Hospitality and Tourism Management Studies faculty are proud of Joseph Huntenburg for being awarded this scholarship and all of his accomplishments while attending Stockton University. Joseph is a leader among his peers and proudly represents the program and University as a graduate, employee and scholarship recipient,” stated Donna Albano, Associate Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Stockton University.

Huntenburg recently graduated from Stockton University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, while earning the highest honors of Summa Cum Laude. While a student at Stockton University, he was able to excel not only in his academics, but in his professional experiences as well. During the summer of 2016, he interned at The Water Club at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa as a Supervisor of the Food and Beverage Department. Following Huntenburg’s summer internship, he began an additional internship with Meet AC. Through positive performance, he was asked to continue with the company as a part-time employee. In addition, before being employed with Meet AC, Huntenburg received the honor of being sponsored to attend MPI’s 2016 WEC in Atlantic City as Stockton University’s student representative where he was introduced to the world of meeting professionals.

“I couldn’t be more honored to be chosen to receive the MPI Foundation WEC Scholarship that will allow me to attend MPI’s 2017 WEC in Las Vegas this June,” Huntenburg states. “The opportunities and experiences during WEC are endless.”
