The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center recently hired a new director of finance to oversee the accounting, exhibit services, purchasing, shipping, receiving and inventory departments of the center.
Alyssa Wenck, a Certified Public Accountant, brings extensive experience and a proven track record of success in the financial area. She most recently served as controller at Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana.
During her time at Second Harvest, Wenck was responsible for managing the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting for the organization’s $8 million operational budget. In addition, she also served on the Executive Leadership Team, a collaborative group that executes strategic goals of the organization.
Wenck holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southeastern Louisiana State University in Hammond as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of New Orleans.
She was also appointed by Mayor Mitch Landrieu to serve on the New Orleans City Planning Commission’s Board of Zoning Adjustments. She holds professional memberships in the Society of Louisiana CPAs and the Louisiana Government Finance Officers Association. She has served on the Young Leadership Council Board of Directors as the 2012 president and she has also served as a board member for the University of New Orleans Alumni Association.
