Pictured: Mexico City is set to host the Inaugural UFI Latin American Conference
The first UFI Latin American Conference is scheduled for Sept. 18-19 in the World Trade Center, Mexico City. It is co-located with the 21st AMPROFEC Congress, Mexico’s most important exhibition industry event, which runs from Sept. 19-23 in the same location. With support from regional association members AFIDA, AOCA and UBRAFE. The organizers hope this will be the first industry event to bring together colleagues from the whole Latin American region.
The event is set to kick off on the Sept. 18 with a golf tournament between Mexico and the rest of the world, followed by the conference’s welcome reception in the evening.
The one-day conference program on Sept. 19 is set to cover several topics dealing with the evolution of the exhibition industry in the Latin American region including exhibitions in times of crisis, digital transformation in LatAm, international opportunities in LatAm and best practices from the Mexican industry.
Because the event takes place on the first anniversary of the earthquake which took place on Sept. 19, 2017, in Mexico, the first session will look at the incredible response not only from venues but the whole industry that pulled together to help support relief efforts. The session is set to feature two international organizers whose shows were affected by the earthquake.
