At the CCC’s international mixer, invited industry leaders from various levels of the tradeshow and event industry included exhibit organizers, venue managers, show contractors, exhibit appointed contractors, exhibit designer services, exhibitors and chief marketing officers.
3D Exhibits, a member of the CCC, was a sponsor for the international reception, held in the heart of the city at a CCC international chapter member’s facility, DIRTT Environmental Solutions.
DIRTT (Do It Right This Time) designs modular and prefab walls and components for health care, education and corporation showrooms using environmentally friendly materials. Its motto: “We don’t make walls; we liberate space.”
“I must say that the visit to DIRTT was an eye opener for EDPA,” said Jeff Provost, director, EDPA. “There are many ways to build exhibits and environments. We tend to think ‘exhibits’ for the things we build and design. The business of designing modular and flexible wall partitions and environments for hospitals and schools is really very similar to what we do for exhibit environment design, just not dismantled as often.”
The foundation of the event had been formed to build learning communities around specific issues that challenge the day-to-day execution for exhibit and event managers. Issues like drayage, event measurement, venue management and CMO involvement were discussed. For those attending to earn their CME certification, 42 sessions were held to earn one CEU of credit.
