ELI Released New Guidebook

Over the last 18 months, event professionals have faced an increasingly complex event landscape with the return of in-person events and the growing reliance on virtual and hybrid event formats.
The Event Leadership Institute (ELIhas released “The Event Professional’s Guidebook to In-Person & Hybrid Meetings, Events, & Conferences,” a comprehensive ebook with helpful tips, expert advice and resources to support event professionals navigating these challenges.“COVID-19 not only unleashed an entirely new experiential vehicle in virtual events, but the stop-start whiplash has led to ongoing confusion about whether to stick with, postpone, cancel or modify an in-person event when we have a new surge, like now,” said ELI founder and CEO Howard Givner. “We created the Event Professional’s Guidebook as a timely toolkit to help event professionals plan in-person and hybrid events right now.”

The 40-page Guidebook is divided into trending, tactical and resource sections, with specific content including:

  • How to make digital events more accessible
  • Model health and safety guidelines for in-person events
  • Tips on how to approach event mask policies and vaccine requirements
  • Questions to ask during on-site inspections
  • Developing or updating a duty of care statement
  • A look at improvements at major convention centers and venues
  • Resources for on-site testing providers, health pass/vaccine passport platforms, and virtual event platforms

“This chaos has made our jobs exponentially more stressful. But this same chaos is a unique opportunity for event professionals to prove their value. If we’re well informed and have our fingers on the pulse of the industry with the latest best practices and protocols, we can certainly earn our seats at the table,” added Givner.
