Amsterdam hosts Europe’s largest medical conference

ESC-2013

Setting the stage for the largest medical conference in Europe, Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre is hosting over 30,000 cardiologists, speakers and representatives, from more than 15 countries at ESC Congress 2013. The conference is being held from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4.

The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and research of cardiovascular disease. Widely known as the largest meeting of medical practitioners in Europe, the ESC Congress is also the largest conference covering cardiovascular issues in the world.

“I am delighted that the ESC Congress has returned to Amsterdam,” said Ben Hainsworth, director of the congresses and meetings division, ESC. “It is crucial to choose the right venue as this conference is the most important item on our agenda. Our cooperation with Amsterdam RAI is very enjoyable, and we are looking forward to the conference.”

For the first time, Amsterdam RAI is expecting to attract over 400,000 international visitors to Amsterdam in 2013. Leading scientists will give more than 4,000 presentations, plenary lectures and seminars on the latest research and clinical trials during the ESC Congress 2013. The 10,500 abstracts submitted from 90 countries will cover more than 145 cardiovascular issues.

A complex of conference and exhibition halls, Amsterdam RAI is in the Zuidas business district of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
