ASM Global Announces New Leadership Appointments at ICC Sydney

submitted by ASM Global

ASM Global, the world’s leading venue management company and producer of live event experiences, has announced leadership changes for Australia’s premier convention, exhibition and entertainment venue – International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney).

The venue’s current General Manager, Adam Mather-Brown has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer, following the retirement of former CEO Geoff Donaghy after an extraordinary 30-year career with ASM Global.

An accomplished professional, Adam Mather-Brown has held leadership positions at five major convention centres over 26 years, 20 of which with ASM Global.

As part of the leadership changes, ICC Sydney’s Beverley Parker takes on the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer in addition to her current role as the venue’s Director of Business Development. Beverley also maintains her role within ASM Global (APAC) as Director of Marketing.

ASM Global (APAC) Chairman and Chief Executive Harvey Lister AM, said the appointments were part of the organisation’s long held succession plans and a natural progression for those experienced professionals who were part of the team to successfully launch and manage ICC Sydney for its initial 10 years of operations.

“Adam’s experience is exceptional, making him the ideal person to lead ICC Sydney into its second decade of operation, upholding ASM Global’s bold aspiration for ICC Sydney to be one of the world’s best performing convention, exhibition and entertainment centres.”

Lister said during his tenure as General Manager at ICC Sydney, Adam had led the operational team to deliver on a people-first promise, embedding risk management, sustainability and a great culture into its business framework.

“Beverley is an exceptional executive who has experience both in venues and sales and marketing. She has been in an executive role at ICC Sydney as Director of Business Development for more than 10 years and has spent a significant part of her career in senior management roles with hotels and other organisations within the Darling Harbour precinct.

“Beverley’s significant contribution to the commercial success of ICC Sydney over the last decade puts her in good stead for her role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and will be of great benefit to the ongoing development and success of the venue.”

Adam Mather-Brown said he was deeply honoured to be entrusted to drive the future direction of the venue and its extraordinary team. “ICC Sydney holds a special place in the heart of Australia’s top Business Events destination, the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Sydney.”

Commenting on her appointment as Deputy CEO of ICC Sydney, Beverley Parker said, “Together with our passionate leadership team, I am excited by the prospect of working with our network of stakeholders, clients and team members to continue delivering the world class event services that are synonymous with ICC Sydney.”
