Michael R. Joncek
October 7, 1968 – March 1, 2026

Michael Robert Joncek of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on March 1, 2026, at age 57.
Born in Chicago on October 7, 1968, Michael later made Las Vegas his home for more than two decades. He started and built a career in tradeshow freight and logistics that spanned more than 35 years.
Michael was known to friends and colleagues as a steady presence with a sense of humor and a loyal nature. He developed lasting relationships across the business and was remembered by those close to him as an all-around good guy.
He is survived by his daughter, Taylor Eskitgis and her husband, Jordan; his granddaughter, Drew Eskitgis; and his daughter, Delaney Joncek. He is also survived by his brother, Bob Joncek and his wife, Cindy; his nephew (cat) friend Larry; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Michael’s family also had ties to the industry. His brother, Bob, has worked in freight with GES, and Cindy Joncek leads the Las Vegas office for CEP, formerly Chicago Exhibit Productions.
A private remembrance will be held by those closest to him. A celebration of life is planned for mid-April.
“Mike was a close friend for more than two decades and one of the good guys in this business,” Don Svehla said. “He spent more than 30 years in tradeshow freight and was known by many across the industry.”
Michael’s passing is felt across his family, his friends, and the tradeshow industry community in which he spent much of his professional life.
