Brightbox enhances brands and experiential team

Brightbox Inc., a platform provider of secure mobile device recharging and digital signage solutions, announced a promotion and addition to its team.

The company promoted Joel Martin to vice president of brands and experiential and appointed Chris Gee as director of brands and experiential.

Martin had previously been the director of events, serving in a number of roles in the company, most recently expanding brand relationships with companies like Coca-Cola and Intel.

“Joel has established himself as a leader in our company, and in the recharging industry as well,” said Billy Gridley, CEO, Brightbox. “Mr. Martin will assume leadership of brand relationships, and be responsible for brand partnership efforts and execution of marketing-driven national advertising strategies as well as our Global Events Division.”

“My goal is to make sure Brightbox continues to grow its reach as the best-in-class provider of secure recharging platforms, with interactive digital signage for brands and ad agencies,” commented Martin.

In his new role, Martin will be supported by Gee, who has been a leader in experiential ideation and execution for the past 20 years.

Gee’s background is in radio sales, event marketing program activations, and concert theatrical productions, which led him to excel at creating non-traditional revenue solutions for brands, agencies and event properties.

He was co-founder of NEXT Industries, pioneering “onsite” digital media and marketing solutions for artists/bands and national brands for live events and music tours. Through NEXT Industries, Gee spearheaded the creation of the mobile, digital-signage kiosk, known as the TourTerminal; a turnkey system for onsite lead generation, fan loyalty, and consumer engagements for pop culture personalities, such as Bon Jovi, Kenny Chesney, and NASCAR’s Dale Earnhardt Jr., in addition to brands Chevrolet, Wrangler and the Hard Rock Café. Earlier he co-founded Greatest Common Factor, an integrated marketing company.

Gee stated his goal with Brightbox is to promote activities with accountability that lead to a next step action.

“My strength is identifying, connecting and creating opportunities where media and marketing and pop culture collide. In my career, I have accelerated companies in cross-functional sales and operations roles. I look forward to the challenge of growing Brightbox into the ubiquitous brand for out-of-home mobile phone recharging solutions.”

“We are delighted to welcome a professional with great strength in creating connections between media, marketing and experiential activations, and a skill set that will help us to strongly expand our offerings and relationships,” said Martin. “Mr. Gee has been a pioneer in experiential marketing involving digital media kiosk systems that interacted with Bluetooth proximity marketing with mobile phones years ago. Once again, he is ahead of the curve with his new involvement in growing Brightbox’s innovative mobile device recharging and digital engagement platform.”
