There will be a celebration of life for industry veteran Ed Mato next Friday, March 22, from 3-6 p.m. at SEG Warehouse, 831 East Pilot Road in Las Vegas. According to Josh Bevans, CTO at Design To Print, Inc., “a short program will begin at 3:30 p.m. in Ed’s remembrance, followed by an open mic for all to share their memories of Ed. Everyone is invited to bring your stories to share along with your favorite Mato-isms.”
Mato suffered a heart attack the day after ExhibitorLive closed and passed away unexpectedly on March 1. His Linked-In profile describes him as a Freelance Tradeshow Knucklehead and has an image that says “Why Be Normal when you can be Eye-Catching?” These two phrases describe the fun-loving, personable Ed Matos in his own words. From his more than six years with Orbus in business development to his last couple of years in sales for Eye Catching Exhibits and Eye Catching Fabrication in Las Vegas, he was a man who lived life to the fullest–inviting everyone he met (or so it seemed) to his Sunday backyard pool parties and BBQs.
In lieu of flowers, the Las Vegas EDPA chapter is accepting donations that will be forwarded to support the Mato family.
