EIBTM to feature technology and innovation sessions

EIBTM, a global exhibition for the meetings and events industry, confirmed its Technology and Innovation Knowledge line up and a number of speakers.

Taking place from Nov. 19-21 in Spain, EIBTM attendees can get a daily dose of technology education at the EIBTM Tech Hour. Julius Solaris, an author and speaker for Event Manager Blog, kicks off the first EIBTM Tech Hour on Nov. 19 with “Register Them Like a Pro.”

“Event registration is one of the most popular technologies within the industry,” said Solaris. “If you feel confused about what is available on the market and the costs involved, you are not alone. I will share the results of research of 300 event registration providers and input from 200 event professionals, together with strategic advice on developing effective registration programs.”

Assessing the relationship between technology and meetings and the effect it has on participants’ engagement with one another, Bo Kruger – a writer, speaker and meeting designer from Moving Minds – will be presenting a session on Nov. 20 called “Is Technology Taking Over Our Meetings.” Kruger will consider when and how technology can be used appropriately to add value to meetings and when it might be best not to use it at all.

Set to take place on Nov. 21, the final Tech Hour session, “The Top Twenty Tech Tools – selected for successful meetings,” will be delivered by Stefania Conti-Vecchi, founder and CEO of EVENTagist. Encouraging attendees to design more effective meetings, Conti-Vecchi will explore useful Web tools and mobile applications that can be used in the meeting environment. Key features in this session include hands-on activities and the sharing of relevant strategies.

Making use of EIBTM’s new Innovation Zone, the Technology and Innovation Knowledge Program will include a number of bite-sized education sessions.

“Visitors will find dozens of dynamic sessions on topics around meeting design and the latest industry trends,” said Rosa Garriga Mora, project manager of Innovation Zone, EIBTM. “Some of the highlights are case-study presentations from the winners of Best Event Awards, Eventex International Awards and Premios Eventoplus as well as sessions on sensorial language, social media and big data, to name just a few.”
